The “JAZZ” in JAZZ Agility Club stands for Jumps and Zig Zags, and adopted its name from JAZZ Agility Training where all the founding members had been training since 1992.  The Club started as an informal training group that moved from house to house to practice this new sport at different locations and on different equipment.  As more people joined the group, it became too cumbersome to keep moving the locations and times of meetings, so we eventually settled down to meeting at the JAZZ Agility Training facility in Greenfield Center, NY which is located in the greater capital region of New York State, about 30 miles north of Albany, just outside of Saratoga Springs.

The Club meets on the second Sunday of each month, usually at 6:30 in the evening.  Meetings are followed by an agility game in the Jazz For Fun program which awards Club plaques annually to members who qualify a given number of times.  In addition to the games program, JAZZ sponsors one NADAC Trial and one fun match each year.  Proceeds from these events are used to buy supplies and the equipment needed to run them and to provide top notch seminars which are free to members who have supported the Club by attending meetings and working on projects and at events.

The club has a summer picnic which is held outdoors at  the Jazz Agility Training facility.  It is usually held on a Sunday afternoon in July.  The club provides hamburgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks.  All members attending the picnic bring a dish to share.   A club meeting is held and Jazz for Fun is played.  Spouses, friends, children, and dogs are all invited.   A club member acts as chairman and coordinates the activities, food, and other refreshments.

An annual banquet is held in January.  The chairman coordinates where the banquet will be held, when, the cost, and making all arrangements with the restaurant.  The club subsidizes the cost of the members' dinners for members in good standing.  Guests are welcome but must pay full price.  Jazz for Fun awards are presented after dinner at the banquet as well as any other awards

We welcome new members who are committed to being actively involved in the life of the Club and who accept our philosophy, goals, and mission.
