Nine Miles Oldentyme Tanker is a 3 year old AKC registered Labrador Retriever. I brought Tank home when he was only 7 ½ weeks old in the middle of a blizzard. The first 4 months were spent going for long walks in the woods through the snow. Even at such a young age Tank was well named as he ran across the top of the snow with his large webbed feet. It was like he had built in snowshoes.

I began training Tank for the field as soon as the snow was gone and it soon became obvious his favorite thing in the whole world is retrieving. He earned his AKC Junior Hunter Title in 2004 and his first Senior leg in June of 2005. Tank is very highly motivated with incredible drive, speed, endurance and perseverance. It shouldn’t be any wonder where he gets it from since both parents, Molly and Mugzy, were AKC titled ‘Master Hunters’ and ‘All Age Qualified’?

When Tank’s not busy retrieving he really enjoys taking agility classes at Fran and Bill Seibert’s training facility, in Greenfield Center, and we plan to compete in Novice AKC agility classes at this year’s Labrador Specialty.

Tank is all business and very serious when working and doing what he was bred to do. However, at the end of the day the boy puppy comes out and he’s ready to be my best friend with lots of hugs and kisses.
